The 2017-18 Art Trail runs from 11 November 2017 to 31 May 2018. This free Aboriginal art trail takes you on a journey through the vineyards of the Hunter Valley. Exhibiting at six venues in the popular Pokolbin wine region, this year the art trail is showcasing more than 100 pieces of contemporary and traditional artwork produced by 14 experienced and emerging Aboriginal artists from the local Wanaruah people and surrounding areas.
Organised by Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation, a not-for-profit organisation run to benefit local Aboriginal people, this exhibition is sponsored this year by Glencore and Mach Energy.
For the visitors the Wupa@Wanaruah is an insight into the rich and vibrant culture of local Aboriginal people. For the artists it thems to express their culture, connect to country, gain valuable experience connecting with audiences and develop career pathways.
